Home / Mind / Emotional Support
Complete confidentiality. Zero judgement. Genuine care.
We are a wellness clinic that understands something fundamental: the mind and body are not separate. Emotional difficulty shows up physically. Physical conditions affect emotional wellbeing. Lasting health requires that both are attended to with equal seriousness, equal compassion, and equal skill.
The Emotional Support services at Create Your Wellness are delivered by Jo, a qualified and experienced psychotherapist, working in close collaboration with Colin's holistic health and coaching framework. Together, they offer a genuinely integrated approach — one that recognises that sometimes you need the depth of therapeutic work, sometimes the practical support of health coaching, and sometimes both.
Jo works integratively, drawing on person-centred, trauma-sensitive, and cognitive approaches tailored to the person in front of her. Her work encompasses anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, grief, burnout, and the complex emotional landscape of significant life change. She brings warmth, clinical expertise, and a genuine commitment to a therapeutic relationship built on trust and safety.
Colin provides the physiological and lifestyle dimension of emotional support: the hormonal, nutritional, nervous system, and sleep factors that determine how the body responds to stress and supports emotional recovery. The integration of Colin's work with Jo's therapeutic support creates a genuinely whole-person approach that neither alone can fully provide.
Every person is met with complete confidentiality, zero judgement, and the kind of genuine human care that is the foundation of any meaningful therapeutic relationship. Whatever has brought you here, you do not have to have it figured out to begin.
Counselling and psychotherapy provide a dedicated, confidential space in which to explore what is happening in your inner world — your thoughts, feelings, patterns, and experiences — with the support of a trained professional whose entire role is to listen, understand, and help you find your way forward.
Jo works integratively, drawing on person-centred, trauma-sensitive, and cognitive approaches genuinely tailored to the person in front of her. Sessions are available as a standalone service or as part of a wider integrated wellness programme, where appropriate collaboration with Colin's holistic health work provides a genuinely whole-person approach.
Not everyone who needs support needs formal therapy. Sometimes what is needed is a space — a genuinely held, thoughtful space — to explore how you are feeling, to untangle what has become knotted, and to be heard by someone skilled in listening and in helping you find your own direction forward.
The 1:1 Emotional Wellness Session sits at the intersection of therapeutic support and holistic health coaching. Delivered in collaboration between Jo's psychotherapeutic expertise and Colin's holistic health framework, these sessions offer a more accessible, flexible entry point for those not ready for a formal therapeutic commitment, or who want emotional support integrated into a broader wellness programme.
Anxiety is the most common mental health experience in the UK. It manifests differently in different people: a constant hum of worry that won't switch off, physical symptoms with no clear cause, the creeping avoidance of situations that once felt manageable, or exhausting hypervigilance that makes genuine rest impossible. What it shares across all its forms is this: the nervous system in a state of perceived threat, working very hard to keep you safe — and in doing so, making your life smaller.
Anxiety and stress management at Create Your Wellness is a genuinely integrated service. Therapeutic work with Jo addresses the psychological dimensions. Colin's naturopathic and lifestyle coaching addresses the physiological dimension: hormonal, nutritional, sleep, and nervous system factors. Together, this creates an approach that is deeper and more effective than either alone.
Burnout is not weakness. It is what happens when a person gives more than they have, for longer than is sustainable, without the recovery that the body and mind require. The World Health Organisation now classifies it as an occupational phenomenon — and the people who experience it are almost always the most dedicated, capable, and conscientious people in the room.
Recovery from burnout requires more than rest. It requires understanding what depleted and why, a compassionate approach to rebuilding the physiological reserves that burnout has exhausted, and the psychological work of examining the patterns and beliefs that allowed the depletion to happen. Jo addresses the psychological landscape. Colin's holistic coaching addresses the physiological recovery.
Grief is not only about death. It is the experience of losing something that mattered — a person, a relationship, a version of yourself, a future you had imagined. It arrives with bereavement, but also with the end of a marriage, a diagnosis, retirement, the departure of children from home, or the quiet grief of a life that has not become what was hoped. However it arrives, it is one of the most universal and most isolating human experiences.
Jo's work in grief, loss, and life transitions offers a skilled, warm, and unhurried therapeutic presence for one of life's most demanding passages. This is not about accelerating grief or resolving it on a timeline. It is about having it witnessed — fully, professionally, and without agenda — while gradually finding the thread that leads forward.
Yes. Confidentiality is fundamental to all therapeutic work at Create Your Wellness. Everything shared with Jo in sessions is held in complete confidence in line with professional ethical guidelines. The limits of confidentiality (situations in which a duty of care may require disclosure) will be explained clearly in your first session.
Counselling and psychotherapy with Jo is a formal therapeutic service for those dealing with significant emotional, psychological, or psychiatric presentations. The 1:1 Emotional Wellness Sessions offer a more accessible entry point — a held, thoughtful space combining therapeutic listening with holistic health coaching, ideal for those not yet ready for formal therapy or who want emotional wellbeing integrated into a broader wellness programme.
Absolutely not. There is no threshold of suffering that must be reached before support is appropriate. Many of the people who benefit most from emotional support services are functioning well outwardly but feeling a persistent sense of depletion, disconnection, or that something is not quite right. You do not have to be in crisis to begin.
